Review by Nosfera Reynolds

California based Dawn of Ashes has released their second full length album, "The Crypt Injection", after remaining silent for nearly a year. They have remained cohesive in their theme of hate, horror, and violence; treating the assemblage to mix of synth, drums, and goblin-like vocals.

"A Blade in the Dark" begins with a synthesised drum beat and starts us off with a news broadcast of a mass murderer, taking us quickly into a song meant for the dance floor. The vocals are dark and murderous, transforming you into the mindset of one such as Jeffrey Dahmer or Hannibal Lecter.

"Torture Divice", the second song on the CD and my favorite, is a seductive mix of synth with a steady drum beat, dropping off in various places to give the senses a tease to please with a comeback of beautifully crafted vocals and electronic instrumentals melting into one another.

Dawn of Ashes is on a fast track to the top of the charts in the horror-elektro scene. Already they are in demand in the European scene. If you have not picked up one of their CDs yet, this is the one to collect. Upon first listening to them I compared them to the likes of God Module, Skinny Puppy and CombiChrist. They are offering us an artfully painted picture of bedlam and hecatomb.
