Review by Luz DelaPaz
Fictionplane's Left Side of the Brain is catchy music that stays in your head like dandruff. Not to say the music is a nuisance, far from it, but once you've listened, you get hooked on the sound. The lyrics are memorable, one can sing with ease along with Joe Sumner (he's Sting's son, so you're not alone if you hear the echo) not to mention how the words are poetic and precise, simplicity that speak volumes, activates the mind to understand the humanity conveyed. Personal faves are "Drink" and "Fake Light From the Sun" for the genuine emotion, but each song has its own unique appeal, music that can be thoroughly enjoyed. It is simply a pleasure to hear. With music like this, I don't mind if more of the British sounds pervade the airwaves and improve the quality in our programming. Better yet, chill out to this album from the comfort of your home. One thing for sure, the conclusion drawn: more of Fictionplane is absolutely necessary.
