Review by Luz DelaPaz
Few albums can reach out and pull you in to swim within the depth of your soul. Themata by Karnivool had that effect. Its innovative sound resulting from having stepped out of a comfort zone is provocative, able to create an emotional response out of the listener. The beautifully crafted lyrics are insightful and unexpected, there are simple tangible truths awaiting to be taken in. Honest and gripping, this is a breath of fresh air from what is currently out there. The ambience created is seductive and lures the senses. Intuition demands for one to take heed and pay close attention, to be conscious. Within Themata is a world waiting to be discovered, a unique sound that can take you to greater heights. Experiencing this album countless of times during pensive moods, in drives with long stretches of road, it is deemed perfect for the situation. Whatever the case may be, immerse yourself and revel inside this penetrating music, allow yourself to be carried over. The passion within it might just inspire you.

I agree. A beautifully crafted piece of work, made even more so by the
variations in the moods of the songs - from Synops with an Eastern feel to
it to Scarabs which has to be close to as heavy as this group will get. But
whatever, delightful. And for those who haven't heard it, look up
www.myspace.karnivool and listen to the cover of Gotye's The Only Way. This
will give some sense of the musical capaity of this group
